Poll Shows Gloria Bromell Tinubu With Double Digit Lead in SC-7
(Myrtle Beach, SC) In an internal poll released today by Democratic candidate Gloria Bromell Tinubu and conducted by the well-known and respected national polling firm of Lake Research Partners in Washington, D.C., South Carolina native Bromell Tinubu takes a clear and double digit lead over her opponents.
“We’re honored that South Carolina families are responding so well to our inclusive message of fighting to create more and better jobs for our families, investing in education and training to make sure we can attract new jobs to South Carolina, adequately funding our kids’ schools, and ensuring affordable healthcare. As an economist, I’ve always insisted on doing the research, checking the numbers, and proving the facts true before moving forward. That’s why we’re releasing this independent polling data,” said Bromell Tinubu, who received her Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Clemson University.
A poll completed by Lake Research Partners survey of likely Democratic primary voters in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District shows Gloria Bromell Tinubu with a clear lead among the remaining candidates in the race, after Ted Vick withdrew his candidacy. Bromell Tinubu is the only remaining candidate with double-digit support. She gains even more support after voters hear her messaging on jobs training and education. The initial ballot that included Ted Vick had him at 13% support, Bromell Tinubu with 11%, and Preston Brittain and Parnell Diggs with only 3% each. After hearing about each candidate, support for Bromell Tinubu doubles to 22%, while support for Brittain increases to just 5%. These finding are based on 404 telephone interviews with a random sample of likely 2012 primary election voters in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District. Interviews were conducted from April 15-18, 2012. Sampling error is =/-4.9%.
